Until now, if you wanted to improve your rein handling skills, you had to get up on a horse or get behind a horse with the reins. In the process, you’ll learn three different rein handling techniques for driving pairs, plus three different rein handling techniques for handling 4-ups.

By making and using the bicycle driver training device, horsemen who were previously shut out of the possibility for learning these skills because of the high cost of owning and maintaining the necessary teams of horses can now gain the skills they desire at relatively little cost. Inside this package, we have included complete plans for the construction of the device. The welding skills necessary to construct the device are very minimal, and with the clear directions for construction included in the package, a set of driving bicycles can be had for very little outlay, especially if you use “junk yard bicycles”, like we did.

Driving the bikes allows for the best kind of learning; learning by experience. This is so much better than learning driving skills at a rein board. Here, you can see the actual cause and effect of your rein use in the forward moving “behavior” of the bikes. By laboring through those first hours of practice where very little might seem to go right, the student of rein handling will likely learn the skills necessary to arrive at a very high level of confidence with the reins.
