Phil King, of Rose Prairie, British Columbia, Canada, feeding cattle the classy way on his ranch. Phil's farm is along the Alaska Highway. Beautiful place, well trained horses! Phil bought our book and the "Harnessing, Hitching, and Driving" video set.

Don Faulkner, of South Royalton, Vermont sent this picture of his registered Haflinger geldings. Besides having big and good looking Haflingers, you can also see that Don is a guy who knows how to bring out the best in a pair of horses. Notice the calm look about the horses (and Don!). Don took care of his Christmas gift giving this past Christmas by ordering a bunch of copies of "A Teamster's View" to give to his friends. It's always an honor to get to know horsemen like this!

Susan Carlin, of Westcliffe, Colorado, sent us these pictures of her Clydesdale gelding , Ky-o-tee, being ridden by her in the Westcliffe Labor Day Parade, 2001, when her colt was three years old. Susan has taken horse training lessons from me on the training of this horse ever since Ky-o-tee was seven months old. It's always a pleasure to teach people like Susan, who enjoy their horses so much. It looks like her horse feels the same way about her!

Peter Edling, of Sweden, sent us some pictures of his Belgian mare Bella. Notice the very different collar and hame system he shows in the right photo. Also, he explains that most horses in that country are worked in open bridles, as seen in the photo on the left.. Peter uses Bella on his farm, where he sells organic beef that he raises from his 120 cow herd. Peter bought a book from us, and we've enjoyed discussing farming, hitching, and rein handling with this most interesting horseman.

Vienna and Jake Lee of Elkhart, Kansas, have been good customers of Bowers Farm! They sent us a couple of pictures of their nice looking young Percheron and Percheron X Shire geldings in a local parade. Jake did the training on the horses, and designed and built their wagon, which looks like a very well built people hauler. Starting at the very front of the wagon, you can see a great example of a safe and strong design for the end of the tongue, a design that won't allow the tongue to drop unexpectedly. Vienna painted some fancy looking pin striping on the side boards. Vienna writes "Thanks to you and your video, we have a fine team that we are proud of. We've done two weddings and a funeral and we have only been working with them for about a year." Besides buying our video set about harnessing, hitching, and driving, they also bought our book, the collars, bits, and the doubletrees from Bowers Farm.

Valerie Siegel of Cheyenne, Wyoming is a student of mine. She is shown here on her Percheron gelding in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Parade 2003. Besides being a great riding horse that she mostly rides English, he is also taught to be driven. She drives him in an open bridle, put to the new cart her husband bought for her. Valerie is from England (with a great accent to prove it) and her horse is from France, but she looks like a true Wyoming cowgirl here!

Ann Ellison of Wisconsin, driving her horse "Gunther". We met Ann and Gunther at a training clinic in Michigan, where we helped prepare Gunther for his first drive. We're also including a picture of Ann riding Gunther, to show what a great all around useful horse should look like.
